Our Wedding

Our journey toward the Sacrament of Marriage began on October 30th, 2022, a couple of days after Grace decided to download Hinge, a popular dating app. Dan reached out by liking Grace’s photo of her hiking at the Grand Canyon. He reached out and asked “Hey! So what’s something you set out to do this year that you’ve accomplished and what’s something you’re still working on?” From then on, conversation flowed, and the first date was arranged for Sunday, November 6th, 2022. Unfortunately, Grace was in Atlanta, Georgia that weekend visiting family and taking her little brother to a video game convention. She called Dan and asked to reschedule so she could spend a little longer with her family before returning to NC. He was very sweet and understanding, and the first date was rescheduled to November 11th, 2022. Our first date was in North Hills and from that date on, Grace and Dan began spending more and more time together. Increasingly growing fonder of each other, we became best friends and fell in love. We bonded over our mutual love of history, both being CPA’s who started their accounting careers at EY, and our favorite books.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Dan proposed on April 25th&nbsp;after setting up a romantic home cooked meal. He handwrote a letter on a piece of parchment paper and placed it in a glass bottle, wrapped in a red bow. He got down on one knee with a ring waiting for me to finish reading the letter that detailed his love for me and his hope for the future. It was the easiest decision Grace had ever made by accepting. We called our close ones and rejoiced in the moment. The next day, Dan and Grace drove to Asheville, NC to stay at the Grove Park Inn where we enjoyed delicious meals, golf, and a spa day. It became one of their most memorable trips.&nbsp;

As Grace's sister and only being one year older, Consuelo became Grace's built-in lifelong best friend. From talking to each other everyday and spending time at each other's houses whenever possible, Consuelo and Grace have become closer with age and now Grace is the godmother of both of Consuelo's daughters.

Anu and Grace first met at NC State getting their Master's in Accounting degrees. They have been in each other's lives ever since and Grace's visits to Portland, OR have become some of her favorite visits of the past few years, especially getting to see Dino (Anu's mini Golden Doodle).

Grace and Marissa met at UNCW as randomly assigned roommates who would immediately become friends. From their first trip together to NYC for Spring Break to their last trip together to Atlanta for the Eras tour, Marissa makes an excellent travel partner.

Grace and Carla met during Orientation at UNCW in 2012. They decided to became roommates their sophomore year and now have been friends for over a decade.

As Grace's oldest sister, Maria has been someone who has always tried to be there for her. She also set up a good example to follow academically, professionally and personally.

As the youngest of the Lopez Arriaga family, Frankie has always been a source of joy for Grace. He is a kind, smart, and thoughtful little brother. He is also Grace's biggest fan, which she really appreciates.

Grace first met Steph on a family trip to Virginia Beach and after bonding over shared stories and wine, she knew that this would definitely be a sister she would love to have.

Grace and Crystal met at UNCW in 2015 and decided to become roommates the following year. From deep conversations to nights out, it is always fun times.

Matt and Dan met when Sherry (Matt's now wife) decided it was time for everyone to go to the dueling piano bar together. After that, the rest was history. Matt is always quick with a quip or a question that will make you think. He is an amazing dad to Larson (son who is getting way too tall) and Charlie (daughter who keeps everyone on their toes). He has always had Dan's back and even puts up with playing golf with him every once in a while.

Tina and Dan met playing kickball together in Phoenix. After taking their skills from kickball to the hiking peaks they bonded over brunch explorations and the search for the best mimosas in the Valley.

Glen is Dan's brother.
Glen is also a CPA.
Glen also went to Baylor.
Glen also started work at a public accounting firm in Houston after graduation.

Ivan and Dan met at Baylor University in the way back machine. Over the last 15 years (yes, we got old!) they have seen many milestones together. Ivan is a practicing dentist in NYC keeping the teeth on the street safe. 

Ivan Carreon

Conner and Dan met as part of the Air Force ROTC at Baylor University, scaled at least one roof together, and ended up as roommates. He is currently living in Kansas with his wife and kids working as a doctor. 

Conner Baus

Dan C and Dan Z met in Raleigh through mutual friends also from New Jersey. It was quite the surprise to both of them when they figured out they went to the same high school. Dan C is a former professional lacrosse player and continues to take out his competitiveness with Dan on the golf course as they see how few golf balls they can lose together.

Dan Cooney

Mark is the best brother-in-law a guy can have. You can ask him anything about bourbon, grilling, and hockey. He's currently serving as a baseball coach to his two young sons Mason (7 going on 8) and Tyler (5!) as they learn the basics.

Mark Herrmann

Doug and Dan have known each other since they were toddlers, worked together as part-time chair organizers in high school, and went to game 4 of the 2015 World Series together to see the Mets blow it in the 8th. Doug lives in NJ with his wife Emily and is expanding his surveying skills.
